Acrylic painting by Daniella Partoche

Daniella paraphrases the Baal Shem Tov: “To try to understand and to see with our eyes that the whole creation is existing at every second by the word of Hashem—our physical life does not come from our will, but only Gd decides, at every second, to create us and the whole material world.”

Daniella’s work radiates with exuberance and energy. Her paintings have become a favorite of clients who seek her abstract and modern style of expression while also touching upon Judaica themes.

Many of her Biblical studies include Chassidic works originating from the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov.

For Daniella, learning Chassidic texts and reading the Psalms of King David are really an important preparation and inspiration prior to her works as an artist. She has found that learning Chassidut and delving into the text’s sources brings her to an awareness of inner spiritual life. Her art creations come alive with a high energy while her mind focuses upon her Chassidic passages during painting.

She finds that this important spiritual preparation helps quiet the ego. With this sense of selflessness and being “bittul,” she has found that her paintings express energy, Hashem’s light, and movement towards being close to Gd.

About Daniella Partoche

Daniella was raised in a traditional Jewish family where she lived in France for 25 years.

In 1987 she made alyia and came to live in Israel with her husband. Nestled in the hills of Galilee, she settled in Tzfat/Safed where she experienced real inspiration. Her studies in Chassidut brought her paintings to a new level.

She began expressing her exquisite gift and her love for painting Judaica art. For nearly 18 years she dazzled the eyes of the visitors to the Israel’s northern city of Safed. Her hand made decorated scrolls of Esther and Ketubot/Marriage contracts on parchment were a brilliant highlight to quality art galleries in northern Israel.

Daniella prays and studies Torah before any of her work begins.

For developing the illuminated scrolls of Megillah Esther she requires a pair of magnifying glasses to aid in her exquisite hand painted details.

Learning Chassidut brings joy… a real spiritual joy! Just like someone who is so thirsty that when they find water, all of their body and all their soul feels a tremendous renewing of strength.

In the same way, painting is not just mixing colors and then producing a nice landscape. Not at all!

Creativity Is only given from He Who who created heaven and earth.

He is the source of inspiration and He checks our hearts to see if there is enough purity to get closer to Him. It is then that Gd, who is Infinite, spreads over us inspiring ideas to create art work.
